Biography:   I graduated from the Medical School, University of Ibadan in Nigeria in 1980. In 1982 I moved to the United Kingdom and trained in the fields of Ophthalmology. I was appointed a Consultant ophthalmologist for the then Burnley NHS Trust in November 1996. This organization is now part of the East lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. I was the Royal College Tutor in Ophthalmology for the Trust from April 1990 to August 2007. During the same period I was also the lead for Clinical Audit in the department of Ophthalmology for the Trust. I was appointed Clinical Lead in Ophthalmology in February 2006, a post I hold to date. I am presently an Examiner in Ophthalmology for The Royal College of Ophthalmologist. The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the University of Manchester. I was a Council member of the United Kingdom & Ireland society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons from 2002 to 2008 and have previously been a member of the Surgical Training Committee in Ophthalmology for the North West Deanery.
