Biography:   Cathryn, MacEwan’s Vice President of Student Services, has worked in higher education for over twenty-five years, having begun as a Student Records Clerk at the University of Alberta. Cathryn was the first Student Services Administrator at Westerra Institute of Technology (Stony Plain, Alberta), and then moved to Olds College as Associate Registrar and was subsequently promoted to Registrar. She returned to Edmonton, her home, as Registrar at MacEwan in 1989. She became the leader of the Student Services team in 1997, and Vice President in 2002. Cathryn holds a BA (Psychology) from the University of Alberta, an MA in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration at the University of Calgary. Her research interests include the impact of multiple generations in the post-secondary classroom, and legal issues in higher education. Cathryn, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Baroque Music Society, is now on the board of her church, and enjoys travel, music as an avocation, wine appreciation, and is a novice golfer.
