Biography:   The opportunity to build a sound career simultaneously as a private surgeon in the field of head and neck surgery as well as the director of the BioScience division in France for 16 years has been a real privilege. It was therefore a great pleasure for me to consolidate this experience and take it up to the European level by joining the pharmaceutical industry full time. This was a chance to become more active in the coordination of projects and an opportunity to share my expertise across the countries worldwide. Surgery has become a fast moving field of science, making increasingly use of the newest technologies. These changes entail a closer interaction between surgeons and manufacturers. Medical affairs department ultimately becomes the necessary link between both the technical and scientific fields.
